mtv summit and nu rock awards

gonna make this short (compared to the novel of a post i did the last time)

the mtv summit was yet again another success..i tend to underestimate the crowd at music events especially last wednesday because it was raining the whole day tuesday. we had a booth there..well..not actually a booth, but we parked our 40-foot container van of a mobile internet cafe! cool huh? :) lotsa kids went and tried khan, the newest mmorpg that's gonna kick ragnarok's ass (kidding!), some did their emailings and their friendster-ing while waiting for their favorite bands to come up the stage.

all in all the event was fun..thank God for vip passes, free food and free beer.

nu rock awards was a blast! despite the damn weather. the rain was bearable but the wind was the killer! while waiting for ruth and bebeng to pick me up, i thought i was gonna be literally swept away by the wind! the phrase "mahangin ba sa labas" is an understatement.

anyhoo..we got there alright and in one piece hehe. backstage everyone was giddy at the same time relaxed..beer was overflowing. i wasnt surprised to see pepe smith beside the beer table of red horse backstage. great performances by the bands..kulit ng radioactive..gabby of udub played guitars for cambio in his oh-so-cute boyscout outfit!..bamboo, well..you know that already..heck tyson even told me yoyoy villame was there hehe.

highlight of our evening? orange and lemons won the best new artist award! sweetest award for any new and upcoming band :) coz you only get it once! im so happy for the guys..really happy for t as well :)

4q is the busiest time of the year..i've come to realize it just now coz the past few weeks have been really, really hectic. ladies and gents..a rundown of my week, if you please..

monday: ingress night for the cyberleague tourney launch. hiring an agency to do your dirty work is definitely okay, but we still have to be there for the details. kuya picked me up from sm north at 1am.

tuesday: day 1 of the launch. pretty good crowd at SM North. (statistics shows that SM North EDSA beats SM Megamall in daily sales..crowd up north is waaay better than the twilight zone in the south area. go figure)..checked if the sponsor booths are okay..did a bit of shopping on the side. since i was in charge of the bands for the event, had to make sure Milk n Money, Orange and Lemons and 6Cyclemind were fed and paid, of course :) thanks again to Darwin, Sir Bong, Kerwin and Alan for their help.

after the event, dayap boys, jen and i went to tonet's house for our (monthly?) get-together dinner/inuman. the rest of the gang was already there. fun as always hehe..moodymacey and tyson spent some much needed quality time. went home at 4am.

wednesday: day 2 of the event. went to mtv for our logistics meeting for the mtv summit event. if you guys are going on dec. 1, check out the BIG YELLOW CONTAINER VAN in the middle of the concessionaires booth. you wont miss it :) after the meeting, had to rush to sm north again for the event. Copperpopthrill, Itchyworms and Sandwich played. Again, thanks to Kerwin, Alan and Darwin!

after the event, went to gweilos for OnL's gig. much better crowd than the last time Denise and i were there hehe. definitely wayyyy better! went home at 2am.

thursday: caught up with some paper work and meetings. getting ready for the EGG launch this time. met up with clod at podium and did some shopping before meeting tyson at sm megamall. we went to peligro to watch urbandub...sigh. the band that makes tyson and i so emotional about music. when tyson watches urbandub or any great band for that matter, he just stands there, watches and listens to them intently while i jump around and sing my heart out. we're a sight for sore eyes hehe (check out friday entry). went home 4am.

friday: work was work..got in late around 11am (sheesh) but since i got in with my moodymacey battleface..nobody disturbed me for 3 hours and i actually manage to do a lot of work hehe. relaced a bit in the afternoon. met tyson again in sm mega and waited for cams too before going to greenbelt 1 for the barbs concert with of course, urbandub. while watching the gig, tyson was in his zone, while i was jumping up and down with clod, cams and wayne. i think tyson sensed i was annoyed with this "zone" of his as he kept reminding me that "ganito lang talaga ako manuod ng gig" and that he doesnt mind if i wanted to join the others in screaming my heart out. a bit annoying really, but i let him be. after that we went to saguijo, again for urbandub. 3 gigs in a row hehe..sulitin na habang andito sila sa manila :) tyson and the boys went to wayne's apartment after..boys night out daw. clod and i were so out of it.

mama arrived from the states also..called me around 1am and asked what time i was going home. i said in an hour..tyson heard me and told me its impossible for me to get home in an hour..udub's set hasnt even started yet. told him by hook or by crook, he looked at me and just smirked..he knows what i said was bs. and he was right, got home at 4am.

saturday and sunday: slept all day. ang sakit pala sa ulo.

okay..this is not a rundown anymore. but i've just come to realize that when everything in your life is going too fast, its hard to catch up and its scares me that i wont be able to. i want everything to be a bit normal again but im afraid that when it does, i wouldnt know what to do anymore.

nung isang linggo, nung nagpunta si moodymacey sa bayan ng bulacan kasama ang mga dayap gurls and boys, madaming nangyari sa ilang araw na iyon..masasaya, ang iba ay kagulat-gulat at ang karamihan ay hindi na dapat pinaaalam sa mga magulang namin (oo matanda na kami lahat, pero kahit na..baka himatayin pa rin). dun din po nagsimula ang drama ni mm at tyson.

nung linggo ay nagpunta naman si moodymacey sa antipolo, kasama muli ang dayap gurls and boys. nag usap na si mm at tyson..ano nga ba ang gagawin nila. may napagkasunduan, hanlabo, pero okay lang. mas okay ng may pinagusapan kesa wala.

first post in, like ages..just a few updates to share

1. been thinking of resigning a bit too often than before. the company's great and all, but i feel like im stuck in a position that is really not my thing although its still related to what i do. and when i go back to what i really do and eventually get stressed too with that, i know i will go and look for this stint im doing now..ang tawag sa akin ay isang taong kuntento pero di alam ang gusto sa buhay..hmm labo.

im thinking of joining a certain music channel..that would really be up my alley, especially now..but the ESOP thing in the office is making me stay, plus of course my row4 friends.

2. how can you afford this rock and roll lifestyle? darn it. being into good music and being friends with a band, although its great fun..it can also be really tiring/taxing. this week alone, i've slept really late for 4 days. i still have to do a website, band merch and plan an anniversary party. mabuhay ang topac!

3. im off to bulacan tomorrow with cams and jen. we're staying overnight at tonet's resthouse (beeyutiful place!) with ruth and the dayap gang. gonna be fun and interesting.

last night, a friend and i watched feng shui..much to my chagrin. my reason is as good as yours. (critically acclaimed my a$$!) my friend really wanted to watch it and he just gave me a pretty huge favor..so i couldn't say no. plus he says he's a real coward when watching horror movies. err..how can you scream your head out for a tetay movie?!?! the thought still amazes me.

after the movie i found out that my date REALLY was a coward..in a cute kind of way :) at least he kept me distracted from seeing the bad acting hehehe :-D

my weekend started out with gigs, a 4-hour roadtrip to nowhere with no sleep, laughter, fun, music tripping and alcohol consumption at 6am in the morning til 1pm with 2 hours of sleep in between and another 4-hour roadtrip in the end. ahh..the rockstar life! (peace tayo ace! hehe)

the good and bad of a september weekend

good part first:

last friday, claude, wayne, mai and i went to gweilos to watch orange and lemons..as always, it was a fun gig. the guys even had this one fan of theirs dancing all thru out their set..guy's name is joseph and he was such a blast to watch in his mod/punk/80's get up..he stuck out like a sore thumb sa bar coz everyone was either in their office attires or hang out clothes. Kudos to Joseph! he even got a round of applause from the audience :-)

saw 4 college buddies of ours in bistro 110..louie e -- my tukayo whom i havent seen in 2 yrs; christian h -- our funny conio photographer pal; allen s -- model/cartoonist who works for toon city and dhara d -- the current ust cfad dean's daughter. its funny when you see old friends of yours..they look and act different but when you see each other and talk like there's no tomorrow, everything remains the same.

saturday was in makati again for claude's birthday party (Happy Birthday Chabs! tsup!)..one of the best parties i went to this year. she had her party in BSA suites at the roofdeck..blasted place even had a pool (that's why i brought extra clothes..mahirap na)..food and drinks we're great..hindi lang one more round eh..hehe. the ONL boys were there too after their stint in LSfm

we were planning to stick it out til the sun rose but had to rush home at 4am that morning because..

(bad part na)

freaking burglars got inside the house!!!

my brother called me 3 times when we were eating at kfc buendia (24hrs ayos) and he texted me that if i didnt call him that instant he's going to call the cops to report the incident and the possibility that i might have been kidnapped..funny because i really dont see myself as KQ (kidnap quality) but i knew my brother was furious and worried.

fortunately, the bastards didnt get anything major in the house because my dog was barking like hell..thank you Lord for giving me a bitchy dog hehe..if not for her, uuwi akong walang aabutan na gamit sa bahay. they did get my dad's cellphone and reading glasses, a fone charger that was for a different fone model (tanga) and the most precious of 'em all, the rosary my mom bought in rome some 10 years ago.

haiiii..its the "ber" month already folks..meaning petty theft and other what-nots will rise up a notch. please be extra careful wherever you maybe..even at home. secure everything -- from your personal bags, cars and of course, your house itself. ika nga ni mad eye moody -- constant vigilance!

Hindi talaga masaya pumunta ng DTI-NCR office to get promo permits for 3 (yes, 3) CONSECUTIVE DAYS! which meant na i had to wake up 2 hours earlier than my usual wake up time and trudge my ass all the way to makati just to get a number so i can be interviewed by the rep as early as possible and get back to the office before lunch. so after my grueling week in the office, i swore to myself to take a break on the weekend, have fun and not think of work at all hehe..

1. watched WWE the whole afternoon..grabe namiss ko to hehe..i used to wake up at 10am in the morning every saturday and watch in my pjs, tapos i'll be cursing like hell kina triple h at sa mga bad guys ng wrestling world dramas..sabi ko nga ba eh..ang wrestling ang telenovela ng mga boys hehe

2. went to the local ukay-ukay place here in marikina..not really ukay stuff..mga overruns ng gap at old navy for really a fraction of the price..when you buy clothes there, pag dating mo sa greenhills feeling mo naholdap ka na hehe

3. watched milk and money and 6cyclemind gig at peligro with peachie and jack. virgin guest ako sa peligro hehe perstaym ko dun :-) place was okay..sarap matulog sa mga couch nila hehe. urbandub had a gig naman at saguijo for admit one..wanted to watch their set kaso walang may alam samin kung san ang saguijo hehe

while waiting for their set, the motorola folks we're going around and handing out raffle stubs for the e390 (basta yung surround sound na fone) raffle that night. may question dun..what is your favorite sound? my answer was vague pero apparently the motorola folks liked it and i was one of the 5 finalists (parang byuti pageant) chaka i was the only gurl hehe. we had to justify our answers to get the fone..so sabi ni mr. 89.9 DJ..be creative! lupet..nakainom na ko, pano pa ko makakaisip ng matinong sagot?! so i just stuck with my vague, boring answer..and the guys, well..lets just say they went REALLY creative hehehe...6cm's guitarist Chuck won the fone with his "creative" answer: 'the sound of a woman screaming out his name while making love'
beat that moodymacey hehe..taob ako dun!

nakita pa ko yung crush ko sa peligro..sighhhhh...*kilig* hehe feeling ko nagbblush ako everytime i talk to him :D buti na lang madilim dun (kay landi mo macey, kay landi!)

4. on the home front, im thinking of selling the car and buying a good second hand corolla..isip isip muna

its been quite a while since i updated my blog hehe..busy gurl! plus kay tamad ko talaga in doing other internet-related stuff lately (except for emails and friendster of course hehe)

1. in the office-front: Q4 is really the busiest time of the year..we're doing our PRINT2DRIVE promo in the stores (we're giving away a Toyota Vios! sali na!) and also our annual gaming tournament, the CYBERLEAGUE (the 8 national champions will be getting Intel's sooper PC, the Grandsdale, each aside from the other prizes..isnt that neat!) Sali naaaaa!

2. sosyalan layf: still the gig scene for me together with clod and wayne..gweilos and/or gasoline alley. met the onl guys last week at gas alley, laff trip kausap..mcoy is cool, si jm ever tahimik, si ace na wish makilala ang sexbomb dancers -- get,get,aww! and si clem na ever-hyper..kumakain ata ng asukal sabay lunok ng jack daniels parati hehe :D met some of the listers too..si sid monkeyboy, camille, jen and tonette.

tonight, hiwalay kami ni clod, she's going to gweilos for onl, ako naman sa gas alley for 6cm with peach..kung topakin kaming 2, may isang lalagari! if i dont show up later in gas alley..kakatayin na ko ni darwin hehe..im doing a racket with them so sana okay yung turn out later :-)

3. home front: mama is in surigao this week, attending their high school reunion and also our family reunion..kainggit nga..i wanted to go with her..*sigh* siargao *sigh*..i think the island is around 3 hrs away from our place..tiyagaan to no, pero enjoy sobra :-)
after surigao, mama will leave naman for the states for her annual visit to my sister..sama din sana ako kaso lang, the thought of taking a leave for more than a week dito sa office is SO alien! anyhoo..my mom is turning out to be a jetsetter hehe..she definitely deserves the vacation :-)

kuya and i will be watching the ADMU-FEU game tomorrow...go blue eagles!

best birthday ever

last wednesday, i was awakened by that one heckuva rain we had..and that was 3am. living in marikina has taught me never to underestimate rain of that magnitude hehe..so by the time i got out of bed and it was still raining, i knew my plans for the day were screwed..

ngayon ko lang na-experience and matuwa, maiyak at mainis in a span of 3 hours..para akong nadedeflate na balloon unti unti. i couldnt imagine spending my special day cooped inside the house..dont get me wrong, i love my folks and the fact that my relative's houses are just a stone's throw away from my house -- i mean, ok na yun..pero iba pa rin when you spend the day outside.

mama comforted me na lang, saying think of the rain as the blessings you will receive..wow, sana nga hehe overflowing talaga kung ganun :-)

anyway, after waiting for the rain to subside (kahit slight lang hehe), i still went to the office (after tackling the obvious liquid obstacle). after greeting me and all that stuff, we had to do a plan B for my party..plan A kasi sa riverpark, shempre scratch na kasi umapaw si Marikina River!

Then my birthday savior just texted me..he said that if i still had no venue yet for my party, Gasoline Alley was available and ready to accomodate me and my friends.

So we went to galleria and had the BEST birthday party ever..as in this one tops the list! di ko na ikukwento kasi mashadong mahaba na ang entry ko hehe

basta BIG THANKS to darwin for setting the whole thing up, hadji for accomodating us, gilbert, rye and ney for coming and jamming just for me, just for my birthday..ang surreal ng experience, pero the best! :-D

news in the home front..

1. last saturday was such as killer day for me (but fun hehe)..for one, i had this fgd activity for our new gaming company, its our 2nd fgd already so setting this up was a bit easy for me plus our GMs were there to help me..

2. after standing up most of the afternoon, i went to powerbooks/tower to browse on some new cds and books..finally decided on buying tom clancy's the teeth of the tiger which stars jack ryan, jr..let's see how junior fares against his old man :D

3. waited for peachie at figaro in sm mega..i still had to work that night for our tv show..we interviewed 6cyclemind for our show's segment complete with gig footages -- san ka pa..saya ng trabaho ko! hehe

4. discontrol manila -- 6cm gig with the crew, peachie and eyah..we stayed in the band's vip room, did the interview and made chitchat and inom with the band..kwela talaga when we're with 6cm..kung ano ano napag uusapan..from music, lablayf, pati diet at exercise tips pa! (salamat ryedawg rapper sa diet tips mo hehe)

claude and wayne also went to discontrol after watching orange and lemons in mayrics..happiness na naman ang lola hehe, pals na sila ni mcoy :-) haii kutow, mabuhay ang mga groupies (the nice kind hehe)

5. im getting my new "toy" in a couple of days (?)..its nice..its handy..it plays music and its color green (or kung anong available color ang meron)..finally!! im getting one after months and months of drooling! hehe..perfect timing kasi...

6. birthday ko tomorrow :-)

I try to be home by 8pm every Tuesday because it's my official The O.C. night. So like any other tuesday, I got home just in time, ate dinner and after cleaning up a bit went straight to the TV room to watch my favorite tv show. I missed last Tuesday's episode and even the replay on Sunday so i just had to watch tonight's ep..

and there it was..seeing my favorite orange county gang hanging out with the new guy oliver when he mentions the foreign "IT" band to date (Robert Carmine rocks!) ROONEY!

The O.C. + Rooney = The best use of one hour in Cable TV!

Thank God for Solar ETC! Thank God for Ralph Roy and Edel Pepito! haha you guys rock!

News on the homefront..err..office homefront :P

We have a new demi-god, our Marketing Group Head which some people call "Da Man" or "Mc Daddy"..hehe i wont name names because we're trying to keep a low profile on this guy. But he aint low profile, mind you..he's one of THE best when it comes to IT Marketing. He's cool and very professional. Honestly, its great the gods at the office hired him..finally seeing some damn good perspective on our Marketing Plan for the company!

And from my previous post, I mentioned that I wont rant about how much I have in the office..so I wont rant about doing FOUR FREAKING WORKLOADS at a time harhar! kidding! :D It is hard work but I know it'll pay off soon :)

Went out last Saturday with my college friends..watched Eternal Sunshine at Galleria..nice movie, nice concept...cinematography..errr well, lets just say its better to watch it on tv..poor wayne, he felt like barfing after watching it hehe..he says it reminds him of The Blair Witch project :)

Oh..and come October, the 5 of us are going to Bangkok! I can't wait!!!! :D

last weekend was one of the most cynically happy weekends i had in my life..i was finally vindicated! i was sooo happy, i just have to gloat it here in lj..haha as if gloating in my friendster bulletin board wasnt enough (and it never will be!!!mwahaha)

as i've said in my bullet board..karma comes when you least expect it and it involves something that means a lot to you..i had my karma last year and it hurt like hell..i couldn't sleep for a week, i lost a lot of weight because i wasn't eating..i drank like a dude and i smoked everyday..it was SO not me.
eventually, after a few months, i got back on track thanks to some of my awesome pals and to my never-ending work. i still think about what happened every so often but i dont freak out on the mere thought of it anymore because i know HE will get his karma sooner or later.

he got his last weekend..it felt good in a way, i felt vindicated,yes..but it wasnt enough and his karma doesnt measure with the killer that i got. hey..even in karma, beggars can't be choosers..here's hoping to another wave of karma for you cakeboy >_0

its been quite a while since i did a long post..my main reason would be a) saksakan lang talaga ako ng tamad mag-update; b) daming work; c) dami-daming work hehe

im not going to complain anymore about the ton of work i have..its better to be doing something than not doing anything at all..at least hindi lang ako nakaupo at nakatanga..nakakabobo ata yun. thankful ako that i have a job that i enjoy (haha kadalasan :P) and that i have the best officemates ever..lab na lab ko mga to whether it be good times or row4 moments alike..

my college buddies and i are going to gasoline alley later to watch play4serve virgins..claude is there to watch orange n lemons and i for sandwich..si waynewonder ewan hehe

went to rob metroeast yesterday to go jeans shopping..litanya sakin talaga to find the perfect jeans because of my hips..(da hips, man..its in the genes tsk)..if only i have the guts to shell out 3k for a pair -- made to order Viktor jeans..great brand, kaso the price just screams HOLDAP all over..life is not fair!
